New equipment for Nunavik hospitals
The two Nunavik hospitals are receiving $364,000 to buy state-of-the-art medical equipment, the Quebec government announced Dec. 13.
Quebec will give $156,000 to Kuujjuaq’s Tulattavik Hosptial for specialized devices and operating room equipment.
Another $208,000 will go to the Inuulitsivik Hospital in Puvirnituq. The money will pay for a mobile dental clinic, a neonatal resuscitation table and other equipment.
“The funding announced today demonstrates once again our government’s concern for the quality of service available as well as its trust in and commitment to the health and social services network of our region and of every region in Québec,” said Pierre Corbeil, the minister of natural resources who announced the new money.
