Taloyoak hamlet councillor Cecile Nelvana Lyall emerged with the early lead Monday night in the Netsilik riding race.

Results from Elections Nunavut were slow coming in, however, and as of 1 a.m. ET Tuesday only one of four polls in the riding had reported results.

In that poll, Lyall received 216 votes, followed by incumbent MLA Joseph Quqqiaq with 36 votes, former Kugaaruk SAO Emiliano Qirngnuq with 11 and Johnny Qilluniq with eight.

The one poll that reported is in Taloyoak. The hamlet has a second poll, and there are two polls in Kugaaruk.

The voters list includes 962 people, with 451 registered in Kugaaruk and 511 in Taloyoak.

Here is what Elections Nunavut was reporting about other Kitikmeot ridings as of 1 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

Kugluktuk: Simon Kuliktana has unseated incumbent MLA Bobby Anavilok in Kugluktuk, receiving 60.7 per cent of the vote according to the Elections Nunavut website.
