No same-sex marriage in Nunavut

The Yukon court decision on same-sex marriage should not reflect or be imposed on Nunavut.

This is to all justices of the peace in Nunavut, or courts of law in Nunavut – no licenses should be issued for same-sex marriages in Nunavut.

Fire and brimstone rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality. I do hope that our leaders of the day will not go silent, and I hope for a good outcome. I am calling on our church leaders to lead our people, and yes our politics, to take a stand, and keep alive the union between one man and one woman.

If we the Inuit take a stronger stand on such issues, we will have our own identity, and yes, rightfully make our own decisions on our own lifestyles, free of laws that do not bind us, just as we do not impose the law on anyone else.

The U.S.A. is such a long distance away from our area, but there the rightful law is in place for such marriages, which is indeed for one man and one woman only. We the Inuit recognize that and I hope Nunavut will not recieve same-sex marriage with open arms.

We have enough problems with our families, and our social life. Do not create more problems for us with these ideas. Or as they put it vainly, go to court to settle the case. It was settled long ago, at Sodom and Gomorrah.

Same-sex marriage is not a political issue, you political men and women of Nunavut, you remember that, it is about life, life that is given to us, not by man, but by a higher being, God, and no one else.

Rise and take up the cause, our way, which is dignity, identity, and doing what is right, and making good decisions for our future, which is righteousness.
