Nunavut Commissioner Nellie Kusugak is seeking nominations for the Nunavut Commissioner’s Arts Award.

The cash prize of $10,000 will go to a visual artist who has made a major contribution to the arts.

Candidates for this award must be Nunavut residents or Nunavut Inuit residing elsewhere, said the commissioner’s office.

The nominees must also have been working in the arts for at least two years.

As well, they must have supporting nominations from three people or organizations.

A selection committee will review nominations, judging artistic achievement, quality and impact.

For those interested, nomination forms are available at the commissioner’s office or website.

The deadline for nominations is Feb. 28.
