I encourage all to consider this opportunity. Imagine having someone on the board that was pro-development. Someone who could help Nunavut become a more self sufficient territory. Someone who recognizes that development is the only way that that will be possible. Outside investment, that creates thousands of very good paying jobs, and that contribute to the our communities and make a difference. Maybe NIRB would then be more pro-development. Yes protect the environment, and the caribou and whales, but use common sense to realize that mining safety and environmental measures are at times world class. NIRB needs to recognize the need for mining, and the need for the future of Nunavut. The Nunavut Land Claims Agreement specifically chose lands rich in minerals for future development.
