Both Canadian North and Air Inuit say they do not have Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft in their fleets.
This type of aircraft is in the headlines after an exit door blew off of an Alaska Airlines 737-9 Max jetliner shortly after takeoff above Oregon on Jan. 5.
Canadian North operates several models of Boeing aircraft but the Max 9 is not one of them, spokesperson Annie Thomlinson confirmed by email.
The pilots 0f the Alaska Airlines flight were forced to make an emergency landing with a gaping hole in the side of plane’s cabin. Several passengers suffered injuries that required medical attention, according to a news release issued by the airline Saturday.
Air Inuit also confirmed there are no Boeing 737 Max 9s in its lineup and that its fleet is unaffected by the grounding of the Max 9s.
“I can confirm that this situation does not concern Air Inuit’s Boeing fleet,” said Air Inuit president and CEO Christian Busch in an email.
LOL… no kidding?
A journalist actually called up the airlines to verify whether they have brand new planes? Everyone who has flown siad airlines knows the answer.
Seriously? No northern airline has purchased a brand new state of the art Max 9 😮 !!??
Get real, not even Air Canada or West Jet have Max9’s.
You mean someone was that bored to ask that question. Wait 30-35 yrs. You’ll have a better chance of them owning something like this.
Canadian North does not own any brand new Boeing 737 Max 9s!! This might turn out to be the funniest news story of 2024😂
good stuff, still, please continue very thorough inspections by qualified and well paid personnel before each flight.
Happy New Year!
Not enough funding I presume
Only 40m
To the surprise of news outlets everywhere, Canadian North clarified today that they do not in fact own any Airbus A380’s.
Kierstin Williams should have contacted First Air, Air Nunavut, Kivalliq Air, Buffalo Airways, Air Tindi etc. one of them may operate Boring 737 Max 9
Aklak Air is buying 2 Max9 for their Holman to Sachs Harbor route ✈️
Sorry Nunavut. The number of paying passengers for a small (very. Very small) does not justify the cost of running these planes. Stick to Twin Otter and Beach planes.
737??!!! (I don’t think so)😂😆
The prices of the tickets we have to pay for, is hefty. Like we’re paying for a private jet. Except, it’s just cookies and crackers and old coffee or can of pop for long flights. Not even a blanket to provide for passengers. Yes. We’ll pay high price for crap airlines.
Sorry sky pilot you have absolutely no clue about the economics up here and how much money is spent not only by individuals but by companies and governments that fly up here, stick to your bush flying.
Hi. I’m Bob from Alaska Air. I’m looking to speak with someone with First Ai-Errr…. Sorry Canadian North. I’ve a slightly used, just one minor incident to speak of, inconsequential cabin pressurization things to watch out for, Max 9 to get off our hands. Dirt cheap!!! As thanks to this intrepid, thorough, hard hitting, deeply investigative stalwart of journalistic integrity, I hear that you’ve none of this aircraft type in your fleet.
The only time I traveled in a 500 people plane was in 2006. I don’t see 500 Inuit going anywhere in the world unless it’s a funded trip. Inuit preferred transports are atvs and snowmobiles. Some igloolikmiut dog sledding. I don’t see the need for a 737. Unless airfare drops 60 %, Inuit will not travel unless its funded trip or medical.
If it’s Boeing I’m not going, but what choice do we have up here?
Canadian north wouldn’t know what a brand new airline looks like as they never buy any. Only hand me downs is all they ever have.
