Not flying so high

RCMP seized 1.5 kg of marijuana with a street value of $70,000 on Dec. 27, and charged two Iqaluit residents with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Carl Bruno Beaudoin, 28, and Betsy Ashoona, 24, boarded a plane in Ottawa and stepped off in Iqaluit to find Nunavut’s drug section waiting for them.

They are scheduled to appear in Nunavut Court of Justice on March 11.
