NTI and QIA advance polls are closed
Nunavut beneficiaries now have 4 days of mobile voting before election day on Dec. 9
Advance polls are closed for both Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and Qikiqtani Inuit Association elections.
Now, mobile polling will be open for four days, from Tuesday to Friday, QIA announced Monday in a news release.
The NTI presidential election is running alongside QIA’s elections for the association’s vice-president, secretary treasurer, and for multiple community directors.
Residents must contact their local community liaison officer to arrange a date and time for mobile voting.
Beneficiaries who are not able to go to the polling station can vote by proxy — assign another Nunavut Inuk to vote on their behalf — on election day, Dec. 9.
Qikiqtani Inuit in Ottawa who would like to vote for their QIA community director will have to vote by proxy, the QIA release says.
NTI is the organization representing Inuit in Nunavut, and QIA represents Inuit in the Qikiqtani region of Nunavut.
NTI paying beneficiaries to vote, never seen so many voters coming to vote on advance poll, 89-90% of eligible voters went to vote. Money talks!
Even boot leggers telling their costumers to go and vote it’s a beautiful thing

That goes to shows that poverty is a big problem in the communities! Something the candidates need to discuaa
A day after advanced polls, people are buying cigarettes and items with the gift card/voucher and re-selling them for cash. Just unreal, like a nightmare. Our very own NTI which is suppose to take care of Nunavut beneficiaries is paying for votes. I’m stumped.
So you went to people and watched what they spent the voucher on? Typical ignorant prejudice comment about people living in poverty
Does not matter what was given, it would have been sold or traded. If people got food baskets, sell or trade.
Maybe they should have had a sit down meal with no options to take out.
Nti is not responsible for what people do with their voucher cards. Stop insinuating that inuit lives need to be micro-managed.
Nunavut needs homecare Canadian employees. Foreigners with relatives those people. In health care in general, hire only Canadians like white Canadians. Because Canadians understand more about their countries, where foreigners has many issues in their countries. For safety of Inuit from Nunavut.
Do you have evidence of anyone in danger? Most new Canadians have respect for elders as welll! Oh I see a Poilievre supporter here
