NTI prepares for election

IQALUIT — Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. has appointed Sandy Kusugak as the chief returning officer for the organization’s upcoming elections.

Kusugak, who lives in Rankin Inlet, has previously overseen elections for the federal, territorial and municipal governments.

NTI beneficiaries will go to the polls in early December to elect a first vice-president and a vice-president of finance.

On Dec. 10 NTI will also hold a by-election for the president’s position. NTI’s latest president, Paul Quassa, resigned from the position the end of June. James Eetoolook has been the acting president since Quassa’s departure.
