Stories, features and editorials get a nod from the Quebec Community Newspaper Association

The Quebec Community Newspapers Association has nominated Nunatsiaq News for several of its annual awards.

Newspapers in good standing with the QCNA compete with each other in various awards categories including the best overall newspaper categories and the individual writing/photography categories.

Nunatsiaq News received nominations for the following categories:

• Best feature page

• Best news story, Chris Windeyer

• Best environmental story, Jane George

• Best business story, Jim Bell

• Bob Phillips Award for the best editorial (general), Jim Bell

• Best photo essay, Yaaka Jaaka and Sarah Rogers

The awards will be handed out at a May 27 gala in Montreal.
