Nunavik police have charged two people in Kuujjuaraapik following a cocaine bust in the Hudson coast community last weekend.
On May 4, Kativik Regional Police Force and Sûreté du Québec officers searched a home on Kuujjuaraapik’s Uviluk Avenue, in response to a tip from the public.
Police seized 11 grams of cocaine from the residence and more than $1,000 in cash, the SQ said in a May 7 release.
A 36-year-old man and 28-year-old woman have since been charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both appeared in court on Tuesday, May 7, and were released on bail with conditions.
The SQ encourages the public to report any information about trafficking or drug production, even anonymously, to the Centrale de l’information criminelle at 1-800-659-4264.
