Heads up, students: the deadline for FANS, the Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students program, is fast approaching. Applications for the fall session should be submitted by July 15.
The FANS program is meant to assist students with their education costs, as long as they’re attending designated post-secondary institutions and academic programs. Designated institutions and programs can be Nunavut-based or found outside the territory.
Interested students need to have been residents of Nunavut for at least 12 months to apply, as well as being Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Applicants do not need to wait until they’re accepted at an institution to start applying.
Forms, along with further information, are available online on the FANS webpage, through the FANS office, your regional Family Services office or at Nunavut Arctic College learning centres.
Those interested in the program can also find more information by calling 1-877-860-0680 or emailing FANS@gov.nu.ca.
Forms and information are only available at the FANS webpage, nowhere else. It looks like someone used last year’s version of the public service announcement.
