Nunavut Film Industry Training Program announces short video challenge

1-3-minute videos can be submitted until April 20

The Nunavut Film Industry Training Program is holding a short video challenge for emerging Inuit filmmakers over the age of 18.

The FIT program, a partnership between the Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corp. and the Nunavut Film Development Corp., aims to create a constant source of learning and opportunity for Nunavummiut interested in a career in the film industry.

Videos can be anywhere from one to three minutes in length and can be recorded on any type of gear, from cameras to smartphones.

In order to submit your video, you need to do the following:

  • Read and follow the challenge rules, which can be found on the Nunavut Film Development Corp.’s website.
  • Download and complete the application form.
  • Submit your video and application to training@nunavutfilm.ca by April 20. There can only be one submission per person.

The winning video, which will be chosen by a panel of experts and announced by April 24, will be streamed on the Nunavut Film Development Corp.’s Facebook page.

The winner will receive $100 and an invitation to a future Nunavut FIT workshop that takes place near to them.

    My question…to participate in this challenge I need be Inuit just I saying because I living in iqaluit all most 10 years now with family and kids my girlfriend it’s from artic bay I’m from Ecuador I love make short films wondering if I’m allow to film with partner like a my girlfriend ? She’s gonna acting ?
