The Nunavut Social Development Council, in conjunction with the Nunavut Language Commissioner, declared Feb. 11 to 16 Language Week.

Throughout the week, community radio stations hosted programs to talk about the state of the Inuit language. In Iqaluit, elders visited the city’s schools to talk to students in Inuktitut.

A parade is scheduled for today, Feb. 15, in Iqaluit. Parade participants are asked to carry signs with Inuktitut words on them.
