Nunavut teachers to meet

Some 500 teachers from every community across Nunavut are expected to attend the first ever Nunavut-wide Teachers’ Conference Feb. 21 to Feb. 25, the Federation of Nunavut Teachers announced recently.

The federation is asking businesses in the community to donate items to the visiting teachers, provide them with information and set up booths or tables so teachers can purchase from them directly. Local artists and crafts producers will also be able to display and sell their wares.

Residents willing to provide visiting teachers with a place to stay will be paid $75 a day.
