Here are the 23 electoral districts recommended by the Nunavut Electoral Bound aries Commission, with their proposed new names and estimated numbers of voters.
They would replace the 19 electoral districts recommended by the first boundaries commission, who did their work between 1997 and 1998, in advance of Nunavut’s first territorial election on February 15, 1999.
Arviat North: 497 voters
Arviat South: 497 voters
Igloolik North: 494 voters
Ikalututiak: 719 voters
Iqaluit Centre: 660 voters
Iqaluit Northeast: 660 voters
Iqaluit Northwest: 660 voters
Iqaluit South-Kimmirut: 660 voters
Kangliqliniq North: 653 voters
Kangliqliniq South: 653 voters
Kingait: 629 voters
Kugluktuk: 635 voters
Netsilimiut East: 540 voters
Pangnirtung: 682 voters
Qamani’tuaq: 923 voters
Quttiktuq: 580 voters
Naujat-Igluligaarjuk-Tikirarjuaq: 666 voters
Salliq: 363 voters
Sanikiluaq: 407 voters
Sanirajak-Igloolik South: 494 voters
Tunnuniq: 606 voters
