Nunavut’s new health projects: the cost

Health facility price-tag up to $80.9 million

By JIM BELL

If the Nunavut government were to build its three proposed health projects with its own cash, the total cost would be $80.9 million, according to the GN’s current estimates.

Nunavut officials don’t know how much extra money they would be required to pay if they were to lease these structures from the regional birthright development corporations, or any other developer, over a long period of time.

That’s because they’re still comparing the costs and benefits of leasing, paying cash, or borrowing money to pay for the projects.
