One arson suspect arrested, more sought

Police are looking for more suspects in the Nakasuk School fire in Iqaluit, although they recently arrested and charged one teen with arson.

Investigators confirmed that considering the teen could not have lifted a couch onto the back steps of the school and set it ablaze by himself, they expected there would be more arrests.

Police were called to the school on Oct. 30 after a plume of smoke was seen rising from the building. The blaze caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage, and shut the school down for several days.

A 15-year-old boy is to appear in court on Feb. 2.
