Orange shirts arrive in Aupaluk

Nearly a month after the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, students and faculty at Tarsakallak School in Aupaluk marked their own Orange Shirt Day to celebrate the arrival of the shirts the school community designed. According to teacher Russ Johnson, the school sold 200 shirts to people across Canada, 100 of which were purchased by Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. Proceeds from shirt sales went to support extracurricular activities for students. After getting the shirts, the students held a march through town and finished the day with a celebration in the school gym.
