Ottawa police are asking the public for help in locating a 12-year-old girl.
Emily Koonoo was last seen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, in Ottawa’s Greenboro East neighbourhood, according to an Ottawa Police Service news release.
“There are concerns for her health and safety,” the release says.
She was last seen wearing grey pants, a black sweater and black shoes. Police described her as Indigenous, 4’10, and weighing about 90 lbs. She has black hair, brown eyes and nose and ear piercings, according to the release.
The police asked anyone with information on her whereabouts to call 613 236 1222, extension 7300.
When asked by Nunatsiaq News, the Ottawa Police Service could not confirm if Koonoo is Inuk.
