Ottawa police seek public’s help to find missing Nunavut woman

Anna Pitseolak, 40, last seen March 25 in Ottawa’s east end; police concerned for her safety

Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help to find 40-year-old Anna Pitseolak.

She was last seen March 25 around 6 p.m. in the Elmvale Acres area, near Russell Road and Ruissellet Road in the city’s east end, the Ottawa Police Service said in a news release Friday.

Officers are concerned for her well-being, the release said.

Police describe Pitseolak as an Indigenous woman, 5-foot-5 and 200 pounds, with blue hair and multiple facial piercings. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey pants, a yellow tuque, black knee-high boots, and carrying a black Vans backpack.

She is known to frequent the city’s Overbrook, Vanier and Carlingwood areas and is believed to be travelling on foot or by bus.

Ottawa police spokesperson Const. Cailey Walker confirmed Pitseolak may be from Nunavut.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222, ext. 7502, or to submit an anonymous tip online to Crime Stoppers, at crimestoppers.ca.
