Pang police seize pot

A drug bust in Pangnirtung this week resulted in the arrest of an Iqaluit teenager and the seizure of $5,000 worth of marijuana.

The arrest took place Tuesday at the Pangnirtung airport, where RCMP from the community intercepted an 18-year-old man who had arrived from Iqaluit.

Police have charged Iqaluit resident Matthew Okpik with possession of marijuana and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court in Pangnirtung June 11.
