Photo: Baymaud Canada takes to Facebook

Here’s the profile photo from the Facebook page for “Baymaud Canada,” a ship born on “June 7, 1916,” which had more than 130 “friends” less then a week after going live on the social networking site. Members of Baymaud’s Facebook group want to rally support to keep the ship, once sailed by the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen, in Cambridge Bay where it sunk in 1930. A Norwegian investment company, which acquired the ship from its previous owner June 7, wants to bring the Maud — as it’s also called — back to Norway.(PHOTO/ FACEBOOK)
