Next August, Puvirnituq’s marine infrastructure will see a lot of activity when two of Cruise North’s trips use the community as a arrival and departure point. The Arctic Safari cruise, which is already sold out, arrives in Puvirnituq on Aug. 5. Then, a second Arctic Safari cruise departs from the community on the same day. The cruise ship traffic will also boost numbers at Puvirnituq’s airport, which has a new terminal under construction. The Hudson Bay community has been serviced by Air Inuit jets since last year.
