The sun sets in Cambridge Bay around 10:45 p.m. Aug. 6 and explodes into colour. Northern communities such as Cambridge Bay are losing about 10 minutes a day as summer peaks and starts its quickening departure toward fall. Within a week, Cambridge Bay residents will experience fewer than 18 hours of daylight and by the end of August, the sun will be rising around 5:20 a.m. and setting around 8:40 p.m. for a little over 15 hours of daylight.
