From now until Aug. 26, Nunavummiut can submit designs to the Government of Nunavut’s transportation department for a new license plate design. The successful design will become the new licence plate of Nunavut and will be displayed on thousands of vehicles and collected around the world, said an Aug. 3 news release announcing the start of the “Nunavut Design Our Licence Plate Contest.” Members of Nunavut’s cabinet will select the winning design, which could see the license plate’s familiar polar bear shape changed.
