June 21 was barbecue time in Hall Beach, where Cpl. David Ferguson and Cst. Mitchell Perry cooked and dished out 144 hotdogs, 230 hamburgers and 40 litres of juice with the help of their families and Canadian Ranger Leetia Siakuluk. Ammittuq MLA Louis Tapardjuk cut the special National Aboriginal Day cake. A similar barbecue in Cambridge Bay, held with the assistance of the community justice branch, the Hamlet of Cambridge Bay and the wellness center, saw hot dogs, hamburgers, muskox burgers and muskox sausages served to 250 community members.
