Mary Simon, the president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, at the Ottawa Inuit Children’s Centre May 12, where ITK launched a new children’s colouring book aimed at promoting safety entitled “Have Fun, Play Safe.” The book, with text in Inuktitut syllabics and Roman orthography, as well as English, teaches that it’s cool to wear life jackets and that guns are for hunting, not playing.
