Lily Maniapik, Becky Okatsiak and Emila Ipkornerk get some lessons and practice at the art of traditional surf board making during Nunavut Sivuniksavut's trip to Hawaii.  The tradition of surfing among Native Hawaiians goes back hundreds of years. Only a select few people are still involved in making the traditional ones from wood. this was part of a day-long activity with Na Kama Kai, a non-profit organization set up to help young native Hawaiians learn more about their ocean traditions.
