Photo: The Pangnirtung weave shop gets a wee taste of Scotland

Pangnirtung’s head weaver, Kawtysie Kakee, during a visit to Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh, Scotland this past September. Dovecot’s weavers have helped train weavers at Pangnirtung’s Uqqurmiut Arts and Crafts studio for almost 20 years. Kakee and colleague Deborah Hickman visited Dovecot as part of the European exhibition of “Combs of our Ancestors,” the latest tapestry work to be produced on Uqqurmiut’s largest loom.
