Mary Simon, the president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, enjoys a tête-à-tête with Laureen Harper, the wife of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, at the sold-out Taste of the Arctic fundraising event held Feb. 1 in Ottawa. The evening featured performances by Elisapie Isaac, Taqralik Partridge and Artcirq, as well as a keynote speechby ex-Governor General Michaëlle Jean.
