A warm and mushy Iqaluit: An abnormal warming period, featuring drizzle, rain and temperatures soaring to 2 C, turned Iqaluit’s snow-covered streets into brown mush Dec. 18. Environment Canada predicts warm weather through to Dec. 20, followed by a cooling trend that will see temperatures descend to -15 C by Christmas Eve. Temperatures at this time of year in Iqaluit normally range from an average maximum of -19 C to an average minimum of -28 C. (PHOTO BY JIM BELL)
