Clyde River RCMP have charged a 49-year-old man with 15 criminal offences, including four counts of sexual assault, eight counts of sexual exploitation and three other alleged crimes.

He was taken into custody on Tuesday. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 4, in Iqaluit.

The investigation began following a report received in September, Sgt. George Henrie said in a news release Wednesday.

“As it progressed, additional victims came forward regarding incidents that occurred between January 2016 and September 2025,” Henrie said.

The other charges include one count of sexual interference and two counts of assault.

To protect the identity of the victims, no further information regarding the investigation will be released at this time, Henrie said.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine if there may be other victims. Police encourage possible victims or people who know victims to contact the Clyde River RCMP at 867-924-0123.
