RCMP have made an arrest in connection with what they initially called the “suspicious death” of a male whose body was found in Rankin Inlet last Friday.

In a news release Tuesday, police said Arsene Innukshuk, 22, has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Police have not released the name or age of the victim, or details about the discovery of the body.

The next court appearance for Innukshuk will be Sept. 26 in Iqaluit.
