Police in Iqaluit say an eight-year-old girl who had been reported missing early Saturday morning was found safe a few hours later.
At 10:30 a.m., a post on the RCMP in Nunavut Facebook page reported the girl had been found. The message thanked members of the public for their assistance.
A bit before 6 a.m., police used the Facebook page to appeal to the public for help finding the girl, who was identified by name and by a description of what she was wearing.
After she was found, the original post appeared to have been removed from Facebook along with her name and clothing description.
