Police say an altercation and attempted stabbing outside a store in Kuujjuaq has led to one person being arrested.
According to Nunavik Police Service deputy Chief Jean-François Morin, the incident started inside the Northern store at about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Morin said it’s believed one of the individuals waited for the other to come outside, where he attempted to stab that person.
A suspect was arrested, and will appear in court Thursday by phone.
Police did not release the name of the suspect or say what charge he faces, and did not say if the intended victim was injured.
Violence, domestic violence, sexual molestation, rapes and elder abuse is normalized in Nunavik Quebec. With these violent attacks in such small isolated communities, how many crimes are not being reported to the local police? How many young children, boys and girls and women are terrorized on a daily basis knowing that such predators are walking our streets and those in charge of the communities are still covering their eyes, nose, mouthes and ears. The organizationms in town and those whom work for these organizations just keep their mouthes shut. So Sad.

Has the Kuujjuaq “Poutine War” escalated to mid afternoon fights?
What’s next? Who has the speediest delivery service? Or a Pepsi versus Coke sampling?
I still think Goos submarine is the best though.
Come on Trolls. We’ve got to link this to Kuujjuaq Inuit. It has to be an Inuit angle of blame we can feed off of.

Something we can agree on – The “Organizations” Makivik/KRG/KI/Tulattavik, as well as the smaller employers -Northern, Local Municipalities, Co-ops, Construction companies, etc operating in Nunavik should start taking accountability for those Southerners they bring to the region, when their recruit runs afoul of the law. Perhaps were they a bit more selective in who they inflict on the region, situations such as this would not occur.
You need to consider to demographic attracted to working in Nunavik.
It skews young, male and single. The organizations must hire the ppl that apply. The employees themselves need to be held to account just like anyone else in Nunavik.
Why do people bother to comment when they are all wrong? If you have no idea what you’re talking about, it’s better to stay quiet. One of the individuals involved in the incident was a local employee who got fired, while the other is a business owner along with his sister. However, it’s important to note that the incident has nothing to do with food or drugs, despite what some people are saying.

There were no Inuit involved in this incident, so what do you mean by “local hire”? That’s usually used as a dog whistle for the colonists to sh*t on the local population. Ie Inuit.
Check the video. Where is the Inuk?
