RCMP say an incident in Naujaat Saturday where residents were advised to take shelter and avoid one area of the hamlet has been “resolved without incident.”

The update was posted to Nunavut RCMP’s Facebook page Sunday at about 10:30 a.m. It provided no further information on the nature of the incident, how long it lasted or whether anyone was injured or arrested.

At about 2 p.m. on Saturday, RCMP on social media advised residents in the hamlet of about 1,225 people that officers were responding to “an on-going situation” at a residence.

They advised people to “stay away from this area and shelter in place until the matter is resolved” and said updates would be provided.

However, no further update was released until Sunday morning.

Happy to hear it is resolved without incident.
It says a lot about the RCMP.their negotiator and the community itself.
Also to the people directly involved in the incident. You made a wise decision , I suspect.
