Police seek community input

RCMP Const. Dale McLeod appeared at a town council meeting on Tuesday to ask that a council member join a revived community consultants group that the RCMP hopes will help them to set policing priorities.

McLeod emphasized that members of the community group would not be “informants or finks,” but would simply help the police identify problems in the community. The next step would be to develop a plan to tackle the problem with the help of police, as well as other community groups.

The RCMP hopes to hold the first meeting in early December. Anyone interested in joining the group should contact the RCMP.
