Pond Inlet police seek information about missing boy

Police in Pond Inlet are asking anyone with information that might help find a missing 15-year-old boy to contact them.

Rico Akaleapik, 15, was last seen last Wednesday and is the subject of a joint effort involving Pond Inlet RCMP, Nunavut Emergency Management, and local search and rescue, a news release issued by the RCMP Saturday afternoon said.

Akaleapik was last seen in Pond Inlet. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, blue headphones and black shoes, the police report said.

The RCMP release did not provide any details about the circumstances of his disappearance.

Information that could help in the search should be provided to Pond Inlet RCMP at 899-1111, the police said.
