Pangnirtung RCMP have arrested four local men and one Qikiqtarjuaq resident on suspicion of dealing drugs.

The arrests came in two separate busts.

The arrest came after police searched the men’s residence and found $6,000 worth of marijuana, as well as money and drug paraphernalia.

The second bust occurred July 31, when police seized $3,500 in marijuana and $3,600 in cash from a Pangnirtung residence.

They arrested Judah Shaimaiyuk, 27, of Pangnirtung, and Steven Kakka, 21, of Qikiqtarjuaq, and charged them with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
