Power outage scheduled Saturday in Coral Harbour
System upgrade in the works for hamlet’s diesel plant

A power outage is scheduled for Coral Harbour on Saturday morning.
Residents can expect the power interruption to run from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. across the entire community, Qulliq Energy Corporation said Tuesday in a news release.
The outage is necessary to safely inspect equipment at the power plant in preparation for a system upgrade, said Mariana Barney, manager of corporate communications with Qulliq Energy Corporation, in the release.
“The upgrade will improve the reliability of Coral Harbour’s power system by modernizing the plant’s control and protection systems,” she said.
“This includes replacing older equipment like relays, batteries, and control modules with newer, more efficient technology.”
