Qulliq Energy Corp. is alerting Iqaluit residents of two power outages planned for this weekend, which will affect most of the city.
The first one on Saturday is scheduled to run from 8 to 11 a.m. It is set to impact parts of the downtown, the area around the airport, Upper and Lower Plateau and West 40.
The second outage, on Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m., is expected to affect residential areas including Apex, Tundra Ridge, Tundra Valley, Happy Valley, Road to Nowhere and Lower Iqaluit.
The outages will allow QEC workers to conduct maintenance on the city’s power system ahead of winter, the utility announced Friday.
