Preliminary hearing ordered in Gjoa Haven sexual assault case

The Nunavut Court of Justice ordered a preliminary hearing into two charges of sexual assault against Joseph Aglukkaq, the mayor of Gjoa Haven.

Aglukkaq, 35, was charged on May 15 in connection with two separate assaults, which took place in 1999 and 2002.

The preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 29.
