Premier to release DM salaries

Premier Paul Okalik committed to making public the salaries of GN senior staff in response to a request by Uqqummiut MLA David Iqaqrialu.

Iqaqrialu was responding to the release of documents last month showing the indemnities paid to MLAs and cabinet ministers.

The information was published in Nunatsiaq News on Nov. 8.

“In the publication of the MLA indemnities, I am one of the top paid among the regular members,” Iqaqrialu said. “Nobody ever told me that I was there.”
