Qikiqtani General Hospital offering weekly walk-in clinics
New service available Wednesday evenings from 5 to 8
Iqaluit residents in need of medical care have a new option available to them: Qikiqtani General Hospital is now offering weekly walk-in clinics each Wednesday, starting this evening.
A news release issued by the Government of Nunavut says the pilot program is part of “an effort to increase accessibility to health services.”
The walk-in clinic will be available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the clinic side of the hospital. Booking starts at 4:45 p.m.
For more information, call clinic appointments at 975-8600, ext. 5425.
Emergency care remains available at the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the emergency room.
They are offering this clinic, but do they have more doctors or nurses? Or are the just reducing when those same doctors are available during the daytime?
Rhetorical question, I know they haven’t hired additional doctors.
