Rankin Inlet elder gets Inuit heritage award

Rankin Inlet elder Tommy Tudlik (right) received an award from the Inuit Heritage Trust for his work in promoting archeology and Inuit culture. The community’s mayor, Harry Towtongie (left), presented Tudlik with the award on Monday on behalf of the organization. On top of the plaque, the heritage trust gave Tudlik a $1,500 cheque and the hamlet council topped off the award with another $250. “Thank you for a lifetime of contribution and service to our community,” says a statement from the hamlet.
