Rankin Inlet Miners celebrate victory in weekend tournament

The Rankin Inlet Miners celebrate their victory on Sunday, March 10, at the end of the Terence Tootoo Memorial Hockey Tournament, which gathers teams from across the Kivalliq each year. The tournament was named in honour of the late Terence, a native of Rankin Inlet who was playing professional hockey in Manitoba when he died by suicide in 2002. His younger brother, Jordin Tootoo, went on to play for the NHL. Newly retired, Jordin returned to Rankin Inlet this year to play in the tournament and to bring his message of mental wellness to other youth in his hometown. (Photo by Noel Kaludjak)
