Iqaluit RCMP have charged an Iqaluit man with aggravated assault after police responded to a man with significant injuries to his head on June 12.
Samolie Lucassie, 26, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, and several other breaches of court orders, an RCMP news release said.
The victim was transported to Qikiqtani General Hospital and later flown by medevac to Ottawa for further treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
Lucassie appeared before a justice of the peace in Iqaluit on on Tuesday, June 18, and was remanded into custody.
He next appearance in court is scheduled for June 20.
