Nunavut RCMP are seeking the public’s help after several Iqaluit businesses were broken into over the past three weeks.

The incidents occurred between mid-December and Jan. 8, RCMP said in a series of news releases Friday.

“At this moment, I have no information to say that the [break and enters] are connected,” Nunavut RCMP spokesperson Sgt. George Henrie said in an email Friday.

On Dec. 16, two people broke into the Royal Canadian Legion at around 6:25 a.m. Approximately $13,000 in cash was taken, the release said. Police released images of the two suspects.

On Dec. 28, RCMP received a report of a break and enter at the Hunters Market on Ben Ell Drive. The building was entered around 3:25 a.m. and a large number of cigarettes were stolen along with about $350.

In the release, RCMP said they believe one suspect was involved and released images from the robbery.

Then. on Jan. 3 at about 2 a.m., police say a suspect broke into J&N Moving on Sivumugiaq Street. RCMP did not indicate whether anything was stolen or damaged but released a photo showing the masked suspect.

On Tuesday, RCMP received a report that a break and enter had occurred the previous day at about 6:25 p.m. at the hunters and trappers organization building on Sinaa Street.

One person entered the compound, but RCMP did not report anything stolen or damaged. Again, photos of the suspect were released.

RCMP say that on Thursday, they received a report of a break-in at Arctic Ventures on Queen Elizabeth Way. A bystander witnessed two suspects leaving the building by a side door carrying a TV and a computer monitor. Police didn’t release an approximate value of the missing property.
