RCMP seek suspect in assault at Iqaluit Quickstop store

Alleged incident occurred Dec. 13 at Nipisa Street location

Police in Iqaluit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in an alleged assault at a convenience store.

The incident occurred Dec. 13 at 5:15 p.m. at the Quickstop at 159 Nipisa St., an RCMP news release issued Friday said.

Upon investigation, police learned a male suspect had allegedly assaulted an employee with a weapon.

The release did not identify what type of weapon or if the employee suffered any injuries.

Police released a photo of the suspect and asked that anyone who recognizes him contact investigators at 867-975-0123.

      A grown man using a weapon against an employee (and it’s usually teens/young people working there) is a violent, pathetic coward. Don’t be afraid to let the police know who it is. Thank goodness for cameras, let’s crack down on these lame thugs already.

    The person probably left town on December 14.
